Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do you service fire extinguishers?
A. Yes, as long as extinguishers have a metal head assembly and handle (not plastic) we can service them – they also need to be newer than 1984.
Q. How often should I get my fire extinguisher serviced?
A. For residential fire extinguishers, we recommend get them serviced every 2 to 3 years. In a commercial setting most are required to have their extinguishers serviced annually.
Q. What can I do with old fire extinguishers that are not serviceable?
A. Rather that throw obsolete fire extinguishers away, they can be dropped off at our office and we will recycle the powder and cylinders
Q. What should I do with my fire extinguisher after I used it?
A. After a fire extinguisher has been discharged (even just a little bit) you need to bring your extinguisher in as soon as possible and get it serviced and recharged. It will not work again until you do.
Q. Do you install or service sprinkler systems?
A. We do not. For sprinkler systems (water sprinklers for the entire building) and/or alarm systems, you can call our office and get a referral to a local company
Q. Do you fill CO2 tanks/cylinders
A. Yes, we do. We are a DOT testing facility – we can fill and hydro CO2 tanks and cylinders on site (you always get your same tank back)
